Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 1.08% or 0.170 points to trade at 15.925 at the close. SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO) added 1.02% or 0.15 points to end at 14.87 and Unibail Rodamco SE (AS:UNBP) was up 0.80% or 1.65 points to 207.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND), which lost 5.16% or 2.82 points to trade at 51.88 in late trade. Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) declined 4.86% or 1.74 points to end at 34.07 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) shed 2.20% or 0.360 points to 16.010.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 69 to 57 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 4.22% to 11.30 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.94% or 0.49 to $52.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.41% or 0.81 to hit $58.18 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.28% or 3.63 to trade at $1277.27 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1764, while EUR/GBP rose 0.70% to 0.8964.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 93.81.
