Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 3.13% or 0.500 points to trade at 16.460 at the close. Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) added 1.93% or 0.71 points to end at 37.56 and ABN AMRO Group NV (AS:ABNd) was up 1.84% or 0.51 points to 28.17 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which lost 7.24% or 0.76 points to trade at 9.68 in late trade. Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc) declined 1.97% or 0.93 points to end at 46.10 and ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) shed 1.96% or 3.00 points to 150.35.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 73 to 48 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.50% to 10.32.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.48% or 0.30 to $63.26 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $68.87 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.30% or 3.90 to trade at $1317.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.18% to 1.1958, while EUR/GBP rose 0.37% to 0.8849.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 92.02.
