Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.47%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND), which rose 0.94% or 0.47 points to trade at 50.60 at the close. Koninklijke KPN NV (AS:KPN) added 0.70% or 0.021 points to end at 3.002 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 0.34% or 0.14 points to 43.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 3.17% or 1.04 points to trade at 31.80 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 1.34% or 0.10 points to end at 7.38 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) shed 1.23% or 0.42 points to 33.83.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 36 and 7 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.34% to 12.10.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.41% or 0.83 to $58.12 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.20% or 0.13 to hit $63.60 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.60% or 7.67 to trade at $1294.97 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.22% to 1.1906, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.8930.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 92.78.
