Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT), which rose 3.37% or 0.820 points to trade at 25.140 at the close. NN Group NV (AS:NN) added 0.44% or 0.15 points to end at 35.47 and Koninklijke DSM NV (AS:DSMN) was up 0.37% or 0.28 points to 75.94 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gemalto (AS:GTO), which lost 4.35% or 1.49 points to trade at 32.67 in late trade. Altice NV (AS:ATCA) declined 3.38% or 0.36 points to end at 10.30 and Koninklijke Boskalis Westminster NV (AS:BOSN) shed 2.61% or 0.80 points to 29.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 43 and 12 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.99% to 12.65 a new 1-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.93% or 0.53 to $56.64 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.75% or 0.48 to hit $63.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.89% or 11.44 to trade at $1276.06 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1654, while EUR/GBP fell 0.28% to 0.8831.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 94.34.
