Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Industrials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Gemalto (AS:GTO), which rose 2.39% or 0.74 points to trade at 31.90 at the close. ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 2.38% or 3.45 points to end at 148.50 and Akzo Nobel (AS:AKZO) was up 1.60% or 1.23 points to 78.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unilever NV (AS:UNc), which lost 5.84% or 3.05 points to trade at 49.20 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.68% or 1.440 points to end at 84.500 and Altice NV (AS:ATCA) shed 0.72% or 0.12 points to 17.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 86 to 37 and 9 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.07% to 11.15.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.27% or 0.66 to $51.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.58% or 0.92 to hit $57.23 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.48% or 6.18 to trade at $1289.18 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.1835, while EUR/GBP rose 0.68% to 0.8987.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 93.07.
