Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX lost 0.84% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were SBM Offshore NV (AS:SBMO), which rose 0.72% or 0.10 points to trade at 14.04 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 0.57% or 0.145 points to end at 25.510 and Koninklijke Vopak NV (AS:VOPA) was up 0.45% or 0.16 points to 35.66 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML), which lost 2.34% or 3.45 points to trade at 144.15 in late trade. Randstad Holding NV (AS:RAND) declined 1.97% or 1.02 points to end at 50.72 and Koninklijke Philips NV (AS:PHG) shed 1.95% or 0.64 points to 31.99.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 82 to 39 and 8 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 18.16% to 14.04 a new 3-month high.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 1.76% or 1.01 to $58.41 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.79% or 1.12 to hit $63.75 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.93% or 11.90 to trade at $1285.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.10% to 1.1915, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.8818.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 92.69.
