Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.90%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 1.02% or 0.08 points to trade at 7.96 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:MT) added 0.99% or 0.260 points to end at 26.465 and Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) was up 0.34% or 0.062 points to 18.318 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unilever NV DRC (AS:UNc), which lost 2.38% or 1.07 points to trade at 43.59 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 2.05% or 1.760 points to end at 83.900 and Relx NV (AS:RELN) shed 1.85% or 0.315 points to 16.730.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 42 and 14 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 9.02% to 13.80.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 1.37% or 0.84 to $60.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.69% or 0.45 to hit $64.50 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.70 to trade at $1327.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.2401, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8870.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 89.62.
