Investing.com – Netherlands equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were DSM Kon (AS:DSMN), which rose 3.81% or 2.04 points to trade at 55.53 at the close. Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) added 2.49% or 0.49 points to end at 20.41 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was up 0.82% or 0.29 points to 36.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which lost 2.83% or 0.125 points to trade at 4.295 in late trade. Aegon (AS:AEGN) declined 1.67% or 0.077 points to end at 4.543 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) shed 1.47% or 0.165 points to 11.030.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 104 to 54 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 6.84% to 21.27.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.47% or 0.23 to $48.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.32% or 0.16 to hit $49.73 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.56% or 6.85 to trade at $1210.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.34% to 1.1170, while EUR/GBP rose 1.04% to 0.7751.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 95.52.
