Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking & Financials, Food & Beverages and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Relapasa (LM:REL), which rose 1.79% or 0.005 points to trade at 0.285 at the close. Unacem (LM:CEL) added 1.70% or 0.050 points to end at 2.990 and Bco Continenta (LM:CON) was up 1.33% or 0.060 points to 4.560 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresa Agroindustrial Pomalca (LM:POM), which lost 7.69% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.120 in late trade. Atacocha (LM:ATB) declined 5.56% or 0.030 points to end at 0.510 and Candente Copper (LM:DNT) shed 4.29% or 0.0030 points to 0.0670.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 14 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.40% or 0.28 to $70.00 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $75.55 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1314.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.17% to 3.2785, while EUR/PEN fell 0.08% to 3.9121.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 92.61.
