Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the S&P Lima Juniors, Food & Beverages and Electricity sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General added 0.46%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Minsur (LM:MINi), which rose 7.91% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.500 at the close. Milpo (LM:MIL) added 7.24% or 0.310 points to end at 4.590 and PPX Mining Corp (LM:PPX) was up 7.14% or 0.01 points to 0.07 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO), which lost 6.25% or 0.500 points to trade at 7.500 in late trade. Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) declined 1.53% or 0.120 points to end at 7.730 and Volcan Minera (LM:VOL_pb) shed 1.16% or 0.010 points to 0.850.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 20 to 8 and 8 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.66% or 0.45 to $67.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $72.95 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.54% or 6.60 to trade at $1224.50 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.14% to 3.2800, while EUR/PEN rose 0.13% to 3.8380.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 94.42.
