Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials, Non-Metal Minerals and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Panoro (LM:PML), which rose 2.04% or 0.004 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Buenaventura (LM:BVN) added 1.02% or 0.140 points to end at 13.820 and Enel Distribucion Peru SAA (LM:ENE) was up 0.98% or 0.060 points to 6.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atacocha (LM:ATB), which lost 7.87% or 0.035 points to trade at 0.410 in late trade. Sociedad Minera el Brocal SAA (LM:BRO) declined 6.25% or 0.500 points to end at 7.500 and Trevali Mining (LM:TV) shed 3.23% or 0.020 points to 0.600.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 8 to 5 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.59% or 1.09 to $67.67 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 2.08% or 1.54 to hit $72.67 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.50% or 6.10 to trade at $1217.60 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was up 0.06% to 3.2729, while EUR/PEN fell 0.32% to 3.8176.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 94.46.
