Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Chemicals and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 added 0.95%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which rose 5.71% or 2.08 points to trade at 38.48 at the close. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) added 4.75% or 4.75 points to end at 104.75 and Kruk SA (WA:KRU) was up 3.65% or 11.75 points to 334.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Enea SA (WA:ENAE), which lost 1.76% or 0.28 points to trade at 15.60 in late trade. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) declined 1.74% or 0.070 points to end at 3.950 and ING Bank Śląski SA (WA:INGP) shed 1.25% or 2.50 points to 197.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 246 to 226 and 184 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.17% or 0.08 to $46.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.35% or 0.18 to hit $51.48 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.39% or 5.11 to trade at $1313.79 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.02% to 4.2557, while USD/PLN rose 0.44% to 3.5699.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 92.64.
