Investing.com – Poland equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Chemicals, Oil & Gas and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 gained 1.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Play Communications SA (WA:PLY), which rose 7.11% or 1.11 points to trade at 16.73 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 5.60% or 1.40 points to end at 26.40 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 4.50% or 0.45 points to 10.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which lost 4.88% or 0.88 points to trade at 17.15 in late trade. Kernel Holding SA (WA:KER) declined 2.26% or 1.20 points to end at 52.00 and Cyfrowy Polsat SA (WA:CPS) shed 1.90% or 0.42 points to 21.68.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 307 to 253 and 74 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.14% or 0.08 to $56.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.00% or 0.67 to hit $66.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.15% or 1.80 to trade at $1222.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.41% to 4.3338, while USD/PLN rose 0.21% to 3.7873.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 96.13.
