Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Energy, Telecoms and Information Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which rose 5.38% or 0.37 points to trade at 7.25 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) added 1.20% or 0.55 points to end at 46.40 and PKO Bank Polski SA (WA:PKO) was up 1.13% or 0.29 points to 25.96 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP), which lost 4.27% or 2.83 points to trade at 63.37 in late trade. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 3.32% or 0.28 points to end at 8.16 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) shed 2.83% or 134.00 points to 4600.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 257 to 251 and 200 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 2.83% or 1.36 to $46.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 1.82% or 0.91 to hit $49.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.12% or 15.05 to trade at $1331.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.08% to 4.3070, while USD/PLN rose 0.35% to 3.8255.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 94.76.
