Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 lost 1.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were LPP SA (WA:LPPP), which rose 1.83% or 120.10 points to trade at 6677.55 at the close. Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) added 1.55% or 0.83 points to end at 54.22 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 0.95% or 0.030 points to 3.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which lost 6.17% or 3.50 points to trade at 53.20 in late trade. Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) declined 5.57% or 3.83 points to end at 64.89 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) shed 3.55% or 3.74 points to 101.67.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 307 to 223 and 202 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.81% or 0.39 to $47.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $50.82 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.44% or 5.55 to trade at $1254.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.40% to 4.2435, while USD/PLN fell 1.13% to 3.9030.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 98.94.
