Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Telecoms and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.47% to hit a new all time low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP), which rose 3.64% or 2.00 points to trade at 57.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) added 3.32% or 0.23 points to end at 7.15 and Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) was up 2.99% or 1.93 points to 66.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Boryszew SA (WA:BORY), which fell 5.62% or 0.28 points to trade at 4.70 at the close. KGHM Polska Miedz SA (WA:KGHM) declined 5.12% or 3.97 points to end at 73.53 and Synthos SA (WA:SNS) was down 4.15% or 0.16 points to 3.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 432 to 196 and 89 ended unchanged.
Shares in Boryszew SA (WA:BORY) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.62% or 0.28 to 4.70.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.29% or 0.12 to $40.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.95% or 0.86 to hit $43.60 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.34% or 3.70 to trade at $1084.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.24% to 4.2519, while USD/PLN rose 0.85% to 3.9716.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.49% at 99.37.
