Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Dunamis Capital PLC (CM:CSEC), which rose 90.27% or 16.70 points to trade at 35.20 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 25.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 25.00% or 0.1000 points to 0.5000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which lost 18.54% or 15.70 points to trade at 69.00 in late trade. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) declined 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC (CM:PEG) shed 10.51% or 2.70 points to 23.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 93 to 72 and 53 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.35% or 0.95 to $69.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.73% or 0.58 to hit $79.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.80 to trade at $1210.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.39% to 212.515, while USD/LKR rose 0.22% to 162.850.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 94.90.
