Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Trading and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.06%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. AIA Insurance Lanka PLC (CM:AVIV) added 25.00% or 131.30 points to end at 656.50 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was up 24.80% or 6.10 points to 30.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP), which lost 8.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.100 in late trade. Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) declined 7.41% or 0.40 points to end at 5.00 and Ceylinco Insurance PLC (CM:CINS) shed 7.14% or 150.00 points to 1950.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 114 to 64 and 50 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.68% or 0.48 to $69.77 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.54% or 0.42 to hit $77.60 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.58% or 7.00 to trade at $1212.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.08% to 210.010, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 161.490.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 94.67.
