Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Trading, Plantations and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Capital Alliance Finance PLC (CM:CAFL) added 24.85% or 4.10 points to end at 20.60 and Singer Sri Lanka PLC (CM:SINS) was up 19.14% or 8.50 points to 52.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which lost 24.95% or 369.70 points to trade at 1112.00 in late trade. Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) declined 17.70% or 23.90 points to end at 111.10 and Serendib Engineering Group PLC (CM:IDL) shed 11.22% or 1.10 points to 8.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 109 to 90 and 55 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.25% or 0.12 to $47.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.04% or 0.02 to hit $53.82 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.54% or 7.19 to trade at $1328.51 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.81% to 202.930, while USD/LKR rose 0.02% to 152.840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 91.92.
