Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Trading, Construction & Engineering and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to end at 0.5000 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which lost 21.17% or 2712.50 points to trade at 10100.00 in late trade. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) declined 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) shed 15.68% or 6.90 points to 37.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 81 to 75 and 53 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.10% or 0.07 to $67.59 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $72.33 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 1.20 to trade at $1226.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.24% to 208.780, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 159.610.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.73.
