Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Trading and Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 134.50 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) added 24.82% or 10.20 points to end at 51.30 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was up 23.04% or 141.30 points to 754.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU), which lost 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 in late trade. York Arcade Holdings PLC (CM:YORK) declined 10.80% or 10.80 points to end at 89.20 and Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC (CM:MAL) shed 8.89% or 0.800 points to 8.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 72 and 72 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.23% or 0.17 to $72.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.43% or 0.34 to hit $79.56 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.90 to trade at $1293.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.41% to 212.595, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 157.940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.30.
