Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Healthcare and Beverages & Tobacco sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT), which rose 25.00% or 26.90 points to trade at 134.50 at the close. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 20.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.6000 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM), which lost 20.71% or 5.80 points to trade at 22.20 in late trade. Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) declined 16.00% or 12.00 points to end at 63.00 and Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) shed 10.00% or 9.40 points to 84.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 80 and 62 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.92% or 0.65 to $71.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.15% or 0.90 to hit $79.13 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.69% or 9.10 to trade at $1309.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.26% to 214.260, while USD/LKR rose 0.12% to 158.210.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 92.63.
