Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Services, Information Technology and Palm Oil sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Janashakthi Insurance Company PLC (CM:JINS), which rose 29.36% or 6.40 points to trade at 28.20 at the close. Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) added 19.33% or 4.60 points to end at 28.40 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which lost 18.92% or 16.80 points to trade at 72.00 in late trade. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) declined 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) shed 12.00% or 10.80 points to 79.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 117 to 61 and 52 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.06% or 0.04 to $65.84 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.16% or 0.11 to hit $69.54 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.60 to trade at $1347.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.17% to 219.215, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 154.190.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 88.72.
