Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Information Technology and Trading sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 134.50 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and John Keells PLC (CM:JKL) was up 12.73% or 7.00 points to 62.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which lost 22.86% or 267.90 points to trade at 904.10 in late trade. Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) declined 21.99% or 297.10 points to end at 1054.00 and Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) shed 12.31% or 3.30 points to 23.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 110 to 73 and 57 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.13% or 0.09 to $71.22 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.51% or 0.40 to hit $78.03 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1290.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.19% to 213.210, while USD/LKR rose 0.11% to 158.290.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 93.41.
