Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Construction & Engineering and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS), which rose 23.08% or 1.20 points to trade at 6.40 at the close. Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) added 21.46% or 4.40 points to end at 24.90 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was up 21.42% or 131.40 points to 744.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU), which lost 14.29% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.600 in late trade. Colombo Fort Investments PLC (CM:CFI) declined 11.90% or 5.70 points to end at 42.20 and Nuwara Eliya Hotels Co PLC (CM:NEH) shed 11.78% or 119.00 points to 891.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 139 to 45 and 46 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.15% or 0.11 to $72.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.21% or 0.17 to hit $81.09 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.10 to trade at $1203.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.09% to 222.320, while USD/LKR rose 0.12% to 168.960.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.83.
