Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Information Technology, Beverages & Tobacco and Land & Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR), which rose 30.77% or 0.400 points to trade at 1.700 at the close. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) added 25.00% or 0.50 points to end at 2.50 and Lion Brewery Ceylon PLC (CM:LION) was up 14.47% or 55.00 points to 435.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bogawantalawa Tea Estates PLC (CM:BOPL), which lost 9.17% or 1.00 points to trade at 9.90 in late trade. Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) declined 8.81% or 119.00 points to end at 1231.00 and Keells Food Products PLC (CM:KFP) shed 7.43% or 13.00 points to 162.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 100 to 74 and 37 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.16% or 0.52 to $45.27 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.15% or 0.53 to hit $46.79 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.06% or 14.20 to trade at $1329.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 1.41% to 191.215, while USD/LKR fell 0.14% to 145.775.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 96.30.
