Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Trading and Hotels & Travel sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share fell 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which rose 16.08% or 4.10 points to trade at 29.60 at the close. Asia Asset Finance Ltd (CM:ASAS) added 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 1.100 and Lanka Tiles PLC (CM:TILE) was up 8.50% or 6.80 points to 86.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL), which lost 24.86% or 8.70 points to trade at 26.30 in late trade. Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) declined 24.49% or 36.00 points to end at 111.00 and Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) shed 19.87% or 12.40 points to 50.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 90 to 69 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.03% or 0.02 to $74.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $85.01 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1191.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.19% to 225.170, while USD/LKR rose 0.12% to 171.240.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.39.
