Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Power & Energy sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share lost 0.19% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 33.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.400 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 25.00% or 0.200 points to end at 1.000 and Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) was up 18.00% or 9.90 points to 64.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which lost 12.50% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.7000 in late trade. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) declined 12.12% or 5.20 points to end at 37.70 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) shed 7.69% or 0.100 points to 1.200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 89 to 75 and 52 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.21% or 0.10 to $47.73 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.39% or 0.20 to hit $51.67 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.17% or 2.16 to trade at $1293.16 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.40% to 195.575, while USD/LKR fell 0.11% to 152.840.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 93.33.
