Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Power & Energy, Investment Trust and Trading sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.30% to hit a new 3-year low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 25.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Lighthouse Hotel PLC (CM:LHL) added 20.00% or 6.00 points to end at 36.00 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 16.67% or 0.100 points to 0.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which lost 23.53% or 6.00 points to trade at 19.50 in late trade. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) declined 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.400 and Lee Hedges PLC (CM:SHAW) shed 19.00% or 13.30 points to 56.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 81 to 71 and 58 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.66% or 0.45 to $69.10 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.97% or 0.77 to hit $80.06 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.10% or 1.20 to trade at $1231.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.08% to 223.525, while USD/LKR rose 0.13% to 171.510.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 95.64.
