Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Footwear & Textile, Trading and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.33%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) added 24.93% or 8.60 points to end at 43.10 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 20.00% or 0.1000 points to 0.6000 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which lost 18.94% or 280.70 points to trade at 1201.00 in late trade. Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) declined 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) shed 11.11% or 0.100 points to 0.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 99 to 72 and 48 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.30% or 0.92 to $69.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.02% or 0.78 to hit $75.39 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.32% or 4.20 to trade at $1309.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.34% to 212.960, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 157.560.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 92.90.
