Investing.com – Sri Lanka equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Services and Investment Trust sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Sathosa Motors PLC (CM:SMOT), which rose 17.10% or 55.50 points to trade at 380.00 at the close. On’ally Holdings PLC (CM:ONAL) added 14.07% or 11.10 points to end at 90.00 and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) was up 13.14% or 45.30 points to 390.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which lost 33.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 in late trade. SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) declined 20.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.4000 and Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) shed 11.25% or 3.70 points to 29.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 72 and 67 ended unchanged on the Colombo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.30% or 0.89 to $69.58 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.43% or 0.32 to hit $75.08 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.23% or 2.80 to trade at $1220.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.02% to 209.395, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 159.690.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 94.32.
