Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Motors and Plantations sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) added 13.20% or 198.00 points to end at 1698.00 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 11.11% or 0.10 points to 1.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 16.67% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.60 at the close. Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) declined 15.61% or 259.00 points to end at 1400.00 and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) was down 14.40% or 64.80 points to 385.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 114 to 112 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; losing 16.67% or 0.10 to 0.60. Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) rose to 52-week lows; gaining 11.11% or 0.10 to 1.00.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.68% or 0.29 to $43.49 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.77% or 0.36 to hit $47.17 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.51% or 5.90 to trade at $1171.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.09% to 216.645, while USD/LKR rose 0.25% to 141.520.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.19% at 96.84.
