Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction & Engineering, Trading and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.55%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 25.00% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) added 12.14% or 27.60 points to end at 255.00 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 11.11% or 0.10 points to 1.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO), which fell 10.00% or 51.10 points to trade at 460.10 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) declined 9.52% or 0.20 points to end at 2.10 and Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) was down 7.41% or 2.00 points to 25.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 156 to 57 and 24 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.51% or 0.21 to $42.16 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.88% or 0.39 to hit $44.53 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.44% or 4.70 to trade at $1073.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.11% to 216.700, while USD/LKR fell 0.13% to 142.075.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.36% at 99.30.
