Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Power & Energy, Motors and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.26%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) added 22.16% or 145.10 points to end at 800.00 and Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) was up 18.18% or 18.00 points to 117.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO), which fell 19.73% or 14.40 points to trade at 58.60 at the close. C T Holdings PLC (CM:CTHR) declined 10.34% or 15.00 points to end at 130.00 and Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) was down 6.42% or 8.30 points to 121.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 141 to 91 and 19 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.22% or 0.10 to $42.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.16% or 0.08 to hit $49.55 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.23% or 2.60 to trade at $1118.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.34% to 208.530, while USD/LKR fell 0.28% to 133.510.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.13% at 96.24.
