Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Motors, Power & Energy and Trading sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share declined 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) added 11.31% or 12.60 points to end at 124.00 and PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) was up 10.00% or 0.10 points to 1.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which fell 8.33% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.20 at the close. Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT) declined 8.13% or 3.30 points to end at 37.30 and Ceylon Hospitals PLC (CM:CHL) was down 7.46% or 8.50 points to 105.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 124 to 116 and 11 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.21% or 0.10 to $44.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.09% or 0.04 to hit $49.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.05% or 0.50 to trade at $1090.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.16% to 207.260, while USD/LKR fell 0.18% to 133.595.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.01% at 97.89.
