Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Services, Real Estate & Construction and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.42%, while the ADX General index lost 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN), which rose 12.21% or 0.069 points to trade at 0.634 at the close. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 6.51% or 0.030 points to end at 0.491 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) was up 4.10% or 0.080 points to 2.030 in late trade.
Biggest losers included National General Insurance Co PSC (DU:NGIN), which lost 9.94% or 0.34 points to trade at 3.08 in late trade. AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) declined 4.35% or 0.100 points to end at 2.200 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) shed 2.33% or 0.010 points to 0.420.
The top performers on the ADX General were Finance House (AD:FH) which rose 13.64% to 2.00, Dana Gas (AD:DANA) which was up 2.00% to settle at 0.510 and Natl Bk Of Ad (AD:NBAD) which gained 0.75% to close at 8.06.
The worst performers were Commercial Bank International (AD:CBI) which was down 9.76% to 1.85 in late trade, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which lost 4.21% to settle at 7.06 and Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was down 3.12% to 0.620 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 14 to 14 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 fell and 9 advanced, while 10 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.72% or 0.23 to $31.92 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 1.10% or 0.38 to hit $34.03 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.27% or 3.30 to trade at $1235.80 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.20% to 4.0512.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.05% at 97.46.
