Investing.com – Sweden stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Stockholm, the OMX Stockholm 30 gained 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the OMX Stockholm 30 were SSAB AB ser. A (ST:SSABa), which rose 6.13% or 2.46 points to trade at 42.62 at the close. Meanwhile, SKF, AB ser. B (ST:SKFb) added 2.93% or 5.0 points to end at 175.8 and Boliden AB (ST:BOL) was up 2.58% or 4.10 points to 163.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Securitas AB ser. B (ST:SECUb), which fell 7.30% or 9.10 points to trade at 115.50 at the close. Lundin Petroleum AB (ST:LUPE) declined 5.33% or 6.70 points to end at 119.10 and TeliaSonera AB (ST:TLSN) was down 0.19% or 0.10 points to 52.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Stockholm Stock Exchange by 294 to 140 and 3 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 1.73% or 0.79 to $44.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.85% or 0.93 to hit $49.06 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.67% or 7.30 to trade at $1083.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/SEK was up 0.16% to 9.4936, while USD/SEK rose 0.30% to 8.7376.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 98.23.
