Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Tobacco, Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.16%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ), which rose 5.50% or 47.40 points to trade at 910.00 at the close. Kingfisher PLC (LON:KGF) added 4.13% or 8.50 points to end at 214.30 and Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO) was up 2.60% or 29.50 points to 1165.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Glencore PLC (LON:GLEN), which lost 4.87% or 13.50 points to trade at 263.90 in late trade. Rightmove PLC (LON:RMV) declined 3.39% or 18.80 points to end at 535.20 and Auto Trader Group Plc (LON:AUTOA) shed 3.18% or 18.00 points to 548.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1126 to 1034 and 205 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.34% or 4.75 to $1410.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $59.40 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.07 to trade at $65.62 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.08% to 1.2678, while EUR/GBP rose 0.11% to 0.8968.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.757.
