Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Utilities and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.75%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 2.21% or 1.470 points to trade at 68.070 at the close. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) added 2.03% or 0.92 points to end at 46.23 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 1.33% or 0.41 points to 31.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 2.11% or 0.89 points to trade at 41.32 in late trade. Umicore NV (BR:UMI) declined 0.51% or 0.33 points to end at 64.86 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 0.39% or 0.12 points to 30.84.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 65 to 40 and 17 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.31% or 3.91 to $1250.39 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 3.15% or 1.46 to hit $47.80 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.94% or 1.43 to trade at $50.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1654, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.8941.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 93.84.
