Investing.com – Finland equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 fell 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were Metsa Board Oyj B (HE:METSB), which rose 1.36% or 0.080 points to trade at 5.980 at the close. Huhtamaki Oyj (HE:HUH1V) added 0.57% or 0.20 points to end at 35.50 and Nokia Oyj (HE:NOKIA) was up 0.50% or 0.020 points to 4.020 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V), which lost 5.58% or 0.4250 points to trade at 7.1900 in late trade. Outotec Oyj (HE:OTE1V) declined 4.28% or 0.223 points to end at 4.992 and Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) shed 2.23% or 0.60 points to 26.28.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 97 to 77 and 17 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for February delivery was down 3.52% or 1.73 to $47.48 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.78% or 1.78 to hit $45.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.32% or 3.80 to trade at $1187.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.14% to 1.0629, while EUR/GBP fell 0.57% to 0.8502.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 101.11.
