Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 1.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ageas (BR:AGES), which rose 0.52% or 0.190 points to trade at 36.390 at the close. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) added 0.21% or 0.25 points to end at 119.85 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 0.07% or 0.01 points to 21.39 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which lost 2.73% or 1.67 points to trade at 59.48 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 2.19% or 1.520 points to end at 67.890 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) shed 2.08% or 0.97 points to 45.94.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 37 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.29% or 3.64 to $1267.76 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.96% or 0.44 to hit $46.27 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.81% or 0.39 to trade at $48.54 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.04% to 1.1199, while EUR/GBP rose 0.87% to 0.8854.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 97.25.
