Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Utilities, Transportation & Logistics and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 3.43%, while the MDAX index added 3.32%, and the TecDAX index gained 2.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:DBKGn), which rose 5.89% or 0.805 points to trade at 14.480 at the close. RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:RWEG) added 5.59% or 0.695 points to end at 13.125 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (DE:VOWG_p) was up 5.05% or 6.000 points to 124.750 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Linde AG O.N. (DE:LING), which added 2.09% or 2.600 points to trade at 127.150 in late trade. Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:FMEG) added 2.18% or 1.580 points to end at 74.070 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) gained 2.21% or 0.315 points to 14.540.
The top performers on the MDAX were Stroeer SE (DE:SAXG) which rose 6.38% to 46.360, Rheinmetall AG (DE:RHMG) which was up 6.27% to settle at 57.940 and Airbus Group (F:AIRG) which gained 4.96% to close at 53.425.
The worst performers were Tag Immobilien AG (DE:TEGG) which was down 4.39% to 11.550 in late trade, Kuka AG (DE:KU2G) which lost 0.28% to settle at 107.150 and DMG Mori Seiki AG (DE:GILG) which was up 0.06% to 41.970 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:PV) which rose 7.61% to 88.080, Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which was up 6.42% to settle at 23.72 and GFT Technologies AG (DE:GFTG) which gained 5.99% to close at 20.090.
The worst performers were Siltronic AG (DE:WAFGn) which was down 0.57% to 14.915 in late trade, Software AG O.N. (DE:SOWG) which gained 1.29% to settle at 32.200 and Freenet AG NA (DE:FNTGn) which was up 1.30% to 23.450 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 768 to 130 and 21 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 12.52% to 27.03.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.42% or 5.45 to $1289.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.78% or 1.35 to hit $49.91 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.85% or 1.40 to trade at $50.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1313, while EUR/GBP fell 1.85% to 0.7708.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.60% at 93.73.
