Investing.com – Peru equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Non-Metal Minerals, Banking & Financials and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General gained 0.28% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Corporacion Aceros Arequipa SA (LM:ARE), which rose 8.89% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.490 at the close. Unacem (LM:CEL) added 7.14% or 0.100 points to end at 1.500 and Inretail Peru (LM:INR) was up 5.56% or 0.750 points to 14.250 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Trevali Mining (LM:TV), which lost 17.74% or 0.055 points to trade at 0.255 in late trade. Milpo (LM:MIL) declined 5.46% or 0.090 points to end at 1.560 and Buenaventura (LM:BVN) shed 4.67% or 0.250 points to 5.100.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 10 and 11 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for April delivery was up 1.81% or 0.61 to $34.36 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.68% or 0.25 to hit $36.82 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.19% or 2.40 to trade at $1232.00 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.01% to 3.5160, while EUR/PEN fell 0.01% to 3.8333.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 98.32.
