Investment Strategy

This Sub-Fund seeks to provide income and maintain value over the short to medium-term by investing primarily in a diversified portfolio of euro denominated debt and debt-related instruments issued by European governments. The Sub-Fund may invest up to 30% in debt and debt-related instruments issued by companies incorporated, headquartered or having their principal business activities in Europe, denominated in euro or in another freely convertible currency provided the underlying foreign exchange risk is principally hedged back to euro. The Sub-Fund will not invest in equities and equity-linked instruments or convertible securities.

Biography	Derek Arnold is a Portfolio Manager at Pioneer Investments. Derek has worked as a Portfolio Manager with the Foreign Exchange team. Prior to this, Derek worked with the Fixed Income team for four years, where he was responsible for trading the Australian, New Zealand and Canadian curves across the fixed income funds. Derek joined Pioneer Investments in July 2007 from IT&E in Sydney, where he worked as a Business Analyst. He started his career in 2003 as a Market Risk Manager, where he was employed by Rand Merchant Bank in Dublin for two years. Derek is a Computer Science and Maths graduate of Dublin Institute of Technology (D.I.T.). He also holds a Masters in Financial and Industrial Maths from Dublin City University (D.C.U.).
