Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Construction & Engineering, Manufacturing and Palm Oil sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 1.41%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 25.00% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Multi Finance PLC (CM:MULT) added 24.60% or 3.10 points to end at 15.70 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was up 22.23% or 300.00 points to 1649.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.100 at the close. Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) declined 23.08% or 600.10 points to end at 2000.00 and Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) was down 15.05% or 318.80 points to 1800.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 183 to 38 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) rose to all time lows; gaining 25.00% or 0.10 to 0.40. Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) fell to all time lows; falling 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.100.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.62% or 0.17 to $28.18 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.43% or 0.12 to hit $27.76 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.77% or 8.50 to trade at $1097.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.65% to 205.220, while USD/LKR rose 0.32% to 144.565.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 99.19.
