Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 1.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 2.95% or 0.167 points to trade at 5.820 at the close. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) added 2.40% or 0.067 points to end at 2.860 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) was up 2.26% or 0.520 points to 23.505 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NN Group (AS:NN), which lost 1.63% or 0.46 points to trade at 27.49 in late trade. Aegon (AS:AEGN) declined 0.03% or 0.001 points to end at 3.670 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) gained 0.04% or 0.005 points to 11.250.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 125 to 50 and 10 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 3.29% to 17.32.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.71% or 1.35 to $51.16 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.21% or 1.15 to hit $53.08 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.71% or 8.85 to trade at $1260.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1150, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.9007.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.33% at 96.84.
