Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Healthcare and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC gained 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA), which rose 3.51% or 1.080 points to trade at 31.840 at the close. Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) added 3.33% or 0.760 points to end at 23.580 and Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX) was up 2.85% or 1.170 points to 42.290 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which lost 1.83% or 0.34 points to trade at 18.20 in late trade. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) declined 1.43% or 3.42 points to end at 236.50 and VOLARIS A (MX:VOLARA) shed 0.86% or 0.22 points to 25.43.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 168 to 135 and 10 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.55% or 7.04 to $1261.56 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.72% or 1.73 to hit $44.73 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.51% or 1.71 to trade at $47.01 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.68% to 17.9278, while EUR/MXN fell 0.64% to 20.1058.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 96.91.
