Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.64%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Nos SGPS SA (LISBON:NOS), which rose 1.41% or 0.1050 points to trade at 7.5700 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LISBON:GALP) added 0.53% or 0.0575 points to end at 10.9675 and Semapa (LISBON:SEM) was up 0.12% or 0.0150 points to 12.7000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF), which fell 3.03% or 0.0002 points to trade at 0.0064 at the close. Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS) declined 3.01% or 0.1210 points to end at 3.9050 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) was down 2.93% or 0.0024 points to 0.0795.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 46 to 22 and 4 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was up 0.34% or 0.20 to $56.84 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.56% or 0.28 to hit $50.72 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.16% or 1.80 to trade at $1105.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.13% to 1.0946, while EUR/GBP rose 1.10% to 0.7032.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.83% at 97.37.
