Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.28%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were FCC (MC:FCC), which rose 14.57% or 0.960 points to trade at 7.550 at the close. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) added 4.96% or 0.282 points to end at 5.963 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 2.68% or 0.285 points to 10.925 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Indra A (MC:IDR), which lost 4.44% or 0.447 points to trade at 9.628 in late trade. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) declined 2.25% or 0.035 points to end at 1.520 and Caixabank SA (MC:CABK) shed 1.93% or 0.052 points to 2.640.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 106 to 97 and 19 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.34% or 4.30 to $1266.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 5.23% or 1.88 to hit $37.80 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 5.29% or 2.05 to trade at $40.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1019, while EUR/GBP fell 0.16% to 0.7719.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 97.09.
