Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Travel, Construction and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite gained 1.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 9.71% or 0.027 points to trade at 0.305 at the close. Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) added 4.38% or 0.140 points to end at 3.340 and Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) was up 4.28% or 0.55 points to 13.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Korres (AT:KRRr), which lost 2.15% or 0.070 points to trade at 3.190 in late trade. Kleeman Hellas (AT:KLEr) declined 1.84% or 0.030 points to end at 1.600 and Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) shed 1.36% or 0.145 points to 10.525.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 63 to 18 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.63% or 22.25 to $1345.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.98% or 0.41 to hit $41.52 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.79% or 0.35 to trade at $43.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.1077, while EUR/GBP fell 0.15% to 0.8478.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.54% at 96.27.
